PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

UB|MD, through its parent company UB Associates, Inc., retained our team to provide comprehensive Ownership Representation services with the consolidation and co-location of 19 independent medical practices to one facility with the Conventus Building. Over a period of 3 years, our team worked carefully with the UB Associates team together with each leadership group from the 19 practice plans to devise a cost-effective, operationally-efficient multi-disciplinary outpatient practice. We worked carefully with Kideney Architects and LP Ciminelli to design and construct a facility that met UB|MD’s strict budget and timeline. In addition, we provided oversight for FFE (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) procurement, relocation management, information technology infrastructure, and landlord-tenant matters.

A project several years in the making, UB|MD was reliant upon our team’s leadership to make sure that the construction pricing and timeline fit seamlessly within the construction of neighbor, Oishei Children’s Hospital, and according to the medical group’s tight relocation schedule given its expiring lease. After several fits and starts due to the construction marketplace, completion of this new medical office space was on schedule and under budget.

RESULTS

Our professionals stepped in as UB|MD’s eyes and ears on the project, assisting with resolution of construction bidding issues, minimizing change orders, and bringing in a successful project that UB|MD is proud to call home. Our services involved oversight of Conventus’s core and shell construction, cost containment and construction oversight of the office space, and assistance with furniture, fixtures, and equipment procurement to facilitate an easy transition for the 19 separate medical groups.
