PROJECT DESCRIPTION

First retained in 2009, we served as Catholic Charities’ facilities and real estate consultant providing comprehensive real estate services. These services encompass a number of areas including management of the organization’s lease portfolio, capital budgeting for owned properties, strategic review of the agency’s real estate ownership structure, brokerage, asset management, construction management, tenant Representation and property management.

Notably, we served as Owner’s Representative for the construction of the new Catholic Charities Refugee Health Center in the former Nativity Roman Catholic Church on Buffalo’s West Side. This project was the first of its kind, with a state-of-the-art health center constructed entirely within the nave of the church. The multitude of services we provided Catholic Charities over the years has resulted in a strong, lasting relationship.

Catholic Charities projects were design build.

RESULTS

As the Owner’s Representative, we worked hand in- hand with Catholic Charities and the design and construction teams to bring this project to fruition. Our team worked from day one to establish the project budget, vision and timeline with Catholic Charities’ leadership. We managed weekly project meetings, ensuring the project stayed on track and proceeded in a streamlined manner. We also managed the construction team, ensuring the aggressive four month timeline was adhered to.

In constructing a new building within the church, the team employed cost-saving measures by reusing many of the existing building materials such as church pews, exposed marble walls, refinished hardwood floors, stained glass windows, and exposed woodwork. New durable, energy efficient materials were also incorporated.
